Beautiful collection! Wanted to stop in and thank you for your kind comments about my lyrics. Where abouts in Texas are you? I used to live in Round Rock just outside Austin. Nice hearing form you.
I spend most of my time in Greenville. Its about 90 miles north east of Dallas. I lived in Austin and visit often. I also spend time at my grandfathers old farm outside Glen Rose. I usually go there to get away and write. Thanks, I have way too many guitars. I just can't seem to part with any.
Wow Joe, what a gorgious collection. I have 4, and sneaked in a 5th (a bass) because I told my wife it couldn't be counted as a guitar :-)
Regarding writing. Typically I have the accoustic and find chord progressions or a riff that sounds nice, and from there I can get the first sentence, if that holds together with a melody, then the song can take off from there, words and music typically coming together. It's such an odd experience. I find that I need to be in a particular frame of mind to write. I've tried to write out an entire lyric and set it to a piece of music, but have never had success. I once did a little instrumental piece with 4 tracks of accoustic guitar interweaoven, it had a verse/chorus/bridge structure so it was easy to seek out a melody and put words to it, but have never done it since. I hope to do more of that method now that I have some decent recording technology. It's amazing what is possible.

Joeboy, You do have some beautiful guitars!
Thanks for coming to my blog; I like yours.
I will read yours regularly now.
I too have a musical son. Mine is not quite 16 and in his first band. It's pretty exciting to watch him develop.
Is that a Gold Top Les Paul I see???
