Buck Has Died

Buck Owens, a Texan passed away Saturday. I just found out, and I am deeply saddened by this. Whether many of us in the music community know it or not, Buck's music has reached us all. The Beatles covered one of his songs. The Bakersfield sound has changed Pop and Country music forever. As a child, my family TV times usually included Buck. Americana has lost an Icon. His music lives forever.

OMG!!!Buck Owens died??? Sorry I didn't see this until now Joe! Been under the weather...
But anyway, wow! This guy was the shit!
If you can get past the utter dumbness of Heehaw, and concentrate what it was really about, it was about pickin' and grinnin'. :)
The most masterful guitarists, OMG. Roy Clark and Buck Owens.
My grampa watched this show for the guitar. He played bluegrass guitar.
He was skilled. Jammed with Andy Griffith and those guys on the Andy Griffith show. That old bluegrass stuff. Those guys kicked ass.:)
I remember being like 5 and watching this show with my Grampa. It was an intentionally stupid show with the most amazing musicians..
So I always had a soft spot in my heart for Buck and Roy.
That sucks. Buck Owens RIP

Hope you're doing ok otherwise.I noticed your blog change, nice!
Actually, I dunno if you caught this, but www.wtsgd.blogspot.com is my "new"
blog, it's where my clips are all going. I posted some good originals
of mine. My leads are improving from all this practice, you'll see if you go. But I'm playing through the pain. Hope you can, too. :)

Hi Joe,
This is a great loss for people who loved country music. That's not generally me personally, but I can appreciate the great talent this man had, and what a huge loss it is.
